The position is a permanent full-time Senior Researcher role at IGG–CNR focused on developing and applying geo-mineralogical and geochemical strategies for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and for the sustainable management of mineral georesources to support climate-change mitigation; the researcher will join an interdisciplinary team working across geochemistry, geodynamics, hydrology and environmental sciences, with access to advanced laboratories and fieldwork opportunities, and will contribute to high-level research, modelling, monitoring, innovation, and international collaboration within IGG’s mission to study and manage geological processes, resources and hazards.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a PhD and a relevant MSc-level degree (equivalent to LM-74, LM-79, LM-54, LM-71, LM-53 or LM-22) and demonstrate strong expertise in geo-mineralogical and geochemical approaches for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and in the management of mineral georesources for climate-change mitigation; eligibility extends to EU citizens, non-EU long-term residents, family members of EU citizens, and individuals with refugee or subsidiary protection status.
